Muscular Dystrophy is a collection of muscle wasting conditions , some of which can be fatal in children. The Campaign has pioneered the search for treatments and cures for over 40 years. They also provide practical, medical and emotional support for people affected by the condition

I chose this charity when raising funds for the Marathon because my second cousin Alexander (right), who's 13 years old and lives in Toronto in Canada, was diagnosed with the condition several years ago. It is gradual and relentless and Alexander is now confined to a wheel chair. Alexander is a clever and vibrant young man and despite his condition keeps a positive outlook on life.

1 in 11 men in the UK will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I chose to include this charity as my brave and very special Godfather and Uncle, Keith, was one of these men and died last year as a result. The PCC fund vital research, provide information, raise awareness and campaign for improved prostate cancer services and support
NB 100% of money donated will be spilt evenly between Prostate Cancer Charity and Muscular Dystrophy Campaign
